About Jamie
Jamie Davis, Esq., CIPP/US, CCEP, is a licensed attorney, a fractional chief compliance officer, and the founder of Build & Comply Consulting Group in Dallas–Fort Worth, serving clients nationally. She helps owners of home health, hospice, home care, DME, pharmacy, assisted living, and behavioral health organizations become audit-ready, not just survey-survivable.
Jamie spent nearly 15 years in compliance leadership inside a Fortune 100 company, including as Regional Ethics & Compliance Director for more than 330 facilities across 14 states. Earlier, she was Attorney and Director of Leasing at AMC Theatres.
She also sits in the owner’s seat. Jamie owns and operates a licensed DME business and a healthcare marketing and patient engagement company and invests in real estate. As she puts it, “I’m under the same rules as my clients.”
She founded DME Launchpad, a 10-module online course that takes new owners from forming a DME company to billing the first claim, and is a leader of The Transformation, a community for professionals leaving corporate to build or buy. Jamie is the author of the upcoming book One Audit Away: The Compliance Playbook for Owners of Regulated Healthcare Businesses and speaks to agency owners, attorneys, and investors about audit readiness and building companies that last, including at the 2026 Health Entrepreneurship Tour in Miami and the 2026 FUTURE Conference in Austin.
Her message: you are one audit away from losing everything, or one decision away from building something no one can take from you.

Audit-ready, not survey-survivable

She advises from the same side of the table as the owners she serves.

Suggested host introduction
About 30 seconds
My guest today is Jamie Davis, a licensed attorney and the founder of Build & Comply Consulting Group. Jamie spent nearly 15 years leading compliance inside a Fortune 100 company, overseeing more than 330 facilities across 14 states. Today she does something most compliance experts don’t: she owns and operates a licensed DME business and a healthcare marketing and patient engagement company herself. So when she talks about audits, she’s under the same rules as you. She’s also the author of the upcoming book One Audit Away. Jamie, welcome.
Quotable lines
“The government doesn’t care what you call your caregivers. They care how you treat them.”
“Now is not the time to try to do it yourself.”
